Short description
The man in the moon, the image of a man trapped on the face of the moon, is conveyed in rhyme to English children at a very early age. To find similar belief in the legends of the Pacific Northwest is not surprising; there is a great comfort to be shared the world over by looking up at that ageless yellow face. Its reflective light illuminates the whole night sky and the rays slide between the trees and through the window to settle on the pillows of sleeping children everywhere.
Kurze Beschreibung
Von einer Anhöhe schweift der Blick durch kanadische Zedern des borealischen Waldes über die kleine verlassene Bucht. In der Ferne ist nur schwach ihr anderes Ufer auszumachen, denn heute herrscht Neumond. Klar und kalt liegt einem die Luft auf der Haut und längeres Verweilen läßt einen leicht frösteln, also gilt es weiter marschieren zu einem Ziele hin, wo immer es auch liegen mag.
